"Won't Be A Minute!"

(Dedicated to Keats Ward.)

Lilian Lacey.

"Won't be a minute!" she smiled as she left.
The jug was empty-of water bereft.
Eight pills to take, musn't get out of bed
"But won't be a minute!" is what the nurse said

Ten minutes later. "I'm sorry I was held up
By another patient-her pillows plumped-up,
Then another demanded I fetch her denture cup,
Yet another was sick, "Oh, whose ringing now!"

"I must go and see but I won't be a minute
Then I'll fetch your tea."
