CONSULTATION FORM

OPTIONS FOR WASS VILLAGE HALL
(Please complete one form for each adult in the household)

The Wass Village Hall committee has spent three years looking into a wide range of options for replacing the village hall. The structural survey indicates that it is uneconomic to repair in the long term. This means that demolition of the current hall may be a necessity in the foreseeable future. (More details can be found on the website www.wass.co.uk selecting ‘Village Hall’.)

This consultation is essential before any further decisions can be made. We need to have a high response to this questionnaire (approx. 80%) if we are to be able to persuade funders for a new hallto give us their support, although in the last 18 months the funding situation has deteriorated considerably. A feasibility study has been prepared for us by Bluefish Regeneration and the executive summary from this can be found on the website. This presents the following options, all of which will need substantial local financial support.

Option 1: High quality, sustainable design 350 m2 (planning already obtained)
Option 2: Standard quality 350 m2
Option 3: High quality, sustainable design 150 m2 and possible sale of remainder of plot
Option 4: Standard design 150 m2 and possible sale of remainder of plot
Option 5 (not costed): Demolish and perhaps sell the plot to put funds in Trust for village

Bearing in mind the likely differing possible sources of funding currently available, the balance of funding to be found from donations and other sources is indicated below:

Option 1

£388,000

Option 3*

154,663

Option 2

£364,265

Option 4*

164,265

*cheaper if funds are available from sale of land.
These sums represent between one and 2 thousand pounds per adult in the village.
